I love reading your blog. This one really spoke to me. Recently I’ve been trying to walk sometimes without listening to a podcast so that I can just enjoy the world around me. I love your escape chair!
This is such a gorgeous post! Thank you. And this: "In my Escape Chair, the seductive razzle-dazzle of public rhetoric gives way to the silence of the thing itself—what we might call Reality." <3 <3 <3 That ending..."the torrent of persuasion." Beautiful. I'd also argue the grass does care :) She wants us to lean in for love. But that's just imho. Thank you for this gorgeous reflection of peace. And goddess bless you for suffering talk radio for a week! You deserve a crown.
So good, Lindsey! I really relate to this in so many ways. I have had to learn to just “be” - with myself, with nature, with children - and to let the physical world around me speak for itself. I’ve also had to remind myself that this way of being is healthy and vital to all of us, especially in this time we live in. Hope you all are well and cannot believe the twins are 8! 😳
What Katherine says here! I feel so strongly that if we were all prioritising this kind of presence, a lot of our larger problems would heal themselves.

Ahh I love your comment about the grass! I have to think about this now. ;)
Thank you for this, Lindsey. It's thoughtful and grounded and grounding.
Thanks Dana.

I am also learning to “be.” It’s not really an evangelical concept.
I miss you!!!!!!

It’s sooooo counterintuitive, unfortunately.
Beautiful. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this. I needed it.
