Oh I feel that eating sour patch kids in the car moment so much. Hope you're feeling better now ❤️ that salad looks delicious. Probably better than the sour patch kids. Or at least healthier 🤔

Lindsey, since you've now convinced me to buy specific candles and read certain books, you must be an influencer. And now you've influenced me to buy sour candy. Glad you're feeling better!

On second thought: The sour candy was a bad idea. (I mean it would be fine if you could eat three, but you will definitely eat the whole bag.) I stand by the ridiculously expensive candle.

I am a huge fan of Japanese stationery though I have not tried the Maruman notebooks yet. Maybe this is my excuse. Also, you are WRONG about this season of White Lotus, it's awesome.

i know. i can’t believe there are only 2 episodes left. i like this season because the characters seem to be the most complex. not so many caricatures. people we didn’t like at the beginning, like timothy, have human sides. except gary/greg, obvs. he’s the worst.

Ok I definitely agree with that. Maybe the last two episodes will be so explosive that I’ll forget that the rest of the season hasn’t had a plot. ;)

Wow, what a great podcast episode, can't recommend it enough ;)

In seriousness, very nice to slow down for a second and read about some real things happening to a real person who has also slowed down for a moment. Most interested to try out one or two of those books and maybe now see if Severance is worth all the hype I've been hearing. Thanks for the read!

Um, yes to Severance.

Two other things: I wrote a whole paragraph about how much I liked you as a person and how you gave me hope for young people, but then I thought it sounded weird so I deleted it. Ha!!

Also, apologies that it took me a month to mention the podcast online. Worst podcast guest ever. But I’m telling you: WINTER! It’s not my best time.

Ok, you've convinced me.

Hearing that that sentiment did exist as words at a point in time is almost as good as it being published :,) thank you so much though, the feeling is certainly mutual, and far far from the worst guest.

Cheers to spring being around the corner!

Man, I have seen more of Arendt this past week on Substack than I have since I took French lit/philosophy classes as an undergrad 25 years ago. Getting inspired to re-read!

Ha! I just got The Human Condition… I have only ever read her via other sources. Must be timely!
